Now that I think of it I did actually take 5 exposures with the extra 2 at + and - 1EV but I didn't use them in the final image as it didn't seem necessary. Tweaking and experimenting is the way to go - I spent quite a lot of time on this photo, constantly tweaking and re-HDRing it with different settings. This photograph was generated from 3 RAW files, at -2EV, 0EV and +2EV. Now that I think of it I did actually take 5 exposures with the extra 2 at + and – 1EV but I didn’t use them in the final image as it didn’t seem necessary.

How many exposures did you use in this one? I tired doing HDR a few times, but I wasn't very happy with the results.
