The last month of my 20s. Day fifteen.
26th December 2007
I wanted to make a photograph that was reminiscent of my early years in the concrete jungle of Chipping Sodbury. The location where I made this photograph is also somewhere that I lived rather more recently and found little affinity for. I hope that this photograph has summed that up.

We’re off for Christmas now and down at our friends in Manchester where I made this photo in the evening after a long drive down from Scotland. The print is a David Shrigley if you’re interested.
The last month of my 20s. Day nine

I’m prone to random bouts of silliness. Tonight was one such night so I put on a dress, a flowery hat and some lipstick and was silly in front of the camera. I also drank whisky and listened to the Bonzo dog band just to add to the general air of silliness.
The hat and the dress have significance to a couple of times in my life too.

A rather more restful scene today in comparison to yesterday. An antidote to all that frustration if you will.
This was taken out on some playing fields at about 9.30 this morning just as the sun was peeking above the horizon sending its rays across the frost-whitened field. It was a sublime sight and here I am taking it all in, filled with the simple wonderment of the sun rising, just as it does every morning.

This one was hard work tonight. I had one idea, it didn’t work out so I tried another but was never quite happy with it. I was tired too and not really in the mood for trying to make a photo. I was also really pleased with yesterday’s photo and never thought I could better it today but I did feel the pressure of yesterdays photograph weighing on me. All in all I’d say that my creative juices were rather congealed like the Christmas gravy left out too long, nothing was flowing.
The photos just prior to this one were of me searching for inspiration. I found none and flicked the bird at the camera. One take. Last frame of the night. Today’s photo.
